Mary graduated from Mankato State Teachers’ College where she met the love of her life, Eugene “Les” Berg. They married in 1953 and they soon had three sons: Sanford (Carol), Paul (Julie) and Jim (Cindy).
Mary was a retired fourth grade teacher at Prosperity Heights Elementary in St. Paul, MN.
She was preceded in death by three infant sons, her husband, Les, and sisters Betty Lais and Gretchen McMahon. Nana will be missed by her family ---especially her grandchildren: Matthew (Sarah), Meghan (Josh), Anna (Adam), Natalie and great grandchildren (Brynlee, Ryker, Gabe, and Violet). “See Ya, Nana!” says little Gabe! She will be forever in our hearts.
Mary's family would like to give a special thank you to Health Partners Hospice for making her end-of-life comfortable. To the staff and friends at Oak Meadows, we want to express our gratitude for all their love and support....especially the friendship Kaila shared with mom each day.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 10:30 AM with visitation one hour prior to service, from 9:30 - 10:30 AM at St. Pascal Baylon Catholic Church, 1757 Conway St. (3rd St. and White Bear Ave.), St. Paul, MN 55106.
