Of St. Paul
Preceded in death by Beloved Husband, Rev. Paul Neal; Brother, George; and Parents, Rev. and Mrs. A.O. Clements. Born May 6, 1923, Mary was a native of Western Canada. Showing her talent and love of music at an early age, she began accompanying her mother’s solo singing and substituting for her father’s church organist by the age of 12. Mary’s formal musical education came from piano teachers, Mount Royal College in Calgary, Alberta and Toronto Conservatory of Music at Toronto University, where she received her Masters and qualified as a solo performer and teacher. Her post-graduate studies through Toronto University continued in piano and organ at Edmonton, Alberta while teaching a large music class. Mary married and came to St. Paul in 1946, where she continued her musical career and retired on her 80th birthday. Mary’s loving contacts were made over the years with choir members, whom she grew to love and was loved in return. She also loved the many P.E.O. friends she made being a member of St. Paul Chapter BL for over 60 years. A happy time in her life was the years she presented concerts on the mighty Wurlitzer Organ at Cedarhurst Mansion. Her family proudly displays the recordings she made on that beautiful organ. Mary loved life, her family and music. She was a talented seamstress and created many interesting items for interior designers and stores. She will be greatly missed by her Children, Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren and a host of Friends. Survived by Loving Family: David Frye (Dianne), Marilyn Wethe (Bradley), Barbara James (Chris) & Philip Neal; Many Loving Grandchildren & Great-Grandchildren; and nephew, John Clements (Sally).
