Born on August 21, 1949 in Dayton Ohio, Michael "Mike" was preceded in death by his parents William Joseph Timmer and Margaret (Jody) Sperry (Jacobi) and son, Jerry Allen Timmer.
Mike was a 1967 graduate of Archbishop Alter High School and a 1971 graduate of Kenyon College with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Political Science, where he was a Deke (brother) in Delta Kappa Epsilon. After completing his education, Mike returned home and proudly took over the family business, Timmer's Cleaners.
Mike was a devoted son, partner and father who found great joy in spending time with his family and friends. He cared deeply about his family; caring for his father during his final days and was his mother's caregiver for six years during her end-of-life journey. Mike had the gift for making friends wherever he went and was generous with his time and support. He enjoyed golf, swimming, baseball, traveling, reading, and had a true love of learning. Mike will be remembered as an avid golfer, for his three holes-in-one, his love of all types of music, in particular classical music, his grand singing voice, the music he made while tickling the ivories, his love of the outdoors, gardening and his inquisitive approach to a devout life. Mike’s love, wonderful smile, laugh and full embraces will be cherished in our hearts and memories.
He is survived by Robyn Feld, his partner of 17 years; children, Jennifer Timmer (Manoj Shekar) and Jaime Timmer (Sean Lambourne); sibling, Stephen Timmer (Karen); and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephew, extended family members, and dear friends who will cherish his memory.
