Beloved Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister, Friend, and Nurse
March 26, 1983 – November 2, 2025
With hearts filled with both sorrow and gratitude, we share that Nicole Leigh Liskiewicz, age 42 of Woodbury, MN passed away, on November 2nd, 2025, surrounded by her husband, children, family and friends, after a short but courageous battle with metastatic neuroendocrine carcinoma.
Nicole was born on March 26, 1983 in St. Paul, MN to Shannon and Deborah Quinn. She grew up in Woodbury, MN.
Nicole lived a life defined by love, compassion, and selflessness. She was born and raised in Minnesota, where she built lifelong friendships and a reputation for kindness that never dimmed. She was a graduate of Woodbury High School where she was an avid swimmer and a member of the Woodbury High School swim team. She always loved being on or around water, whether on vacation or up north at the cabin. Nicole then attended Winona State University receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. A dedicated nurse, colleague, and caregiver, Nicole spent her career caring for others—offering comfort, hope, and healing to countless patients and families. Her empathy and gentle strength made her not just a nurse, but a light in the lives of everyone she touched.
Nicole was a licensed registered nurse at Allina Health United Hospital for 14 years. She received the Daisy Foundation Award, which was nominated by a patient in 2023. The tribute below references Nicole’s passion for nursing in these direct comments from the patient…
I am writing this letter to let you know of the extraordinary care I received during a 8-day stay at United Hospital. Your team at United was nothing short of amazing. During my stay, I was cared for by professionals who were compassionate, empathetic, and smart. I felt the nursing and physician team who tended to me were consistently excellent and genuinely concerned about my health, my recovery, and my overall well-being. However, there was one shining star among the team of truly excellent caregivers. Her name is Nicole Liskiewicz. She was absolutely amazing, professional, compassionate, knowledgeable, calming, and real. If I was anxious or distressed, Nicole was reassuring. If I was in pain or concerned about a procedure or test that was about to happen, Nicole provided reassurance. She tended to me as if she was my mom, and yes, I know that sounds a little weird, coming from a 63-year-old woman, but I believe most of us want our mom when we are sick, scared, or in pain. Please extend meaningful recognition to Nicole and the other amazing staff on the med/surg floor.
Nicole’s greatest joy was her family. She shared an unbreakable bond with her husband, Aaron, and was a devoted, proud mother to Madelyn and Logan, who were the center of her world. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, love, and faith—a home where every moment, big or small, was cherished.
Her journey these last 6 months were marked by immense courage. Even through pain and uncertainty, Nicole’s faith never wavered. She faced every challenge with grace and determination, often comforting those around her instead of seeking comfort herself. Her strength inspired a community that rallied around her with prayer, love, and support.
She is preceded in death by her father Shannon Quinn, grandfathers; Robert Quinn & John Shea, grandmothers; Joyce Shea, Jackie Quinn, & Maxine Becker.
Nicole is survived by her loving husband, Aaron Liskiewicz; her children, Madelyn and Logan; her parents, Deb and Dave Becker; her sister, Lindsey (Ben) and their two daughters (Nora and Quinn), Grandfather; David Becker Sr.(Lillian), in-laws Linda and Mike Liskiewicz; brother-in-law Chris (Ashley) and their children (Hendricks, Collins and Everly); brother-in-law AJ (Maria) and their daughter Mckinnley; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, colleagues, and dear friends who will forever carry her light in their hearts.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday November 20th at 11:00 AM with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 8260 4th St N, Oakdale, MN 55128. All who knew her are welcome to attend, share stories, and honor her legacy of faith, love, and service.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation for the compassionate care provided by Dr Lemma and the MN Oncology physicians, PAs, and nurses as well as specialists, palliative care team, and nursing staff on Unit 2500 at United Hospital who went above and beyond to care for Nicole.
Nicole fought her battle with unshakable faith and now rests in eternal peace. Her love remains—alive in her family, in every heart she touched, and in the light she leaves behind.
Our shining star has left us, until we meet again. We love you.
