Reception at 5 PM and Services at 5:30 PM followed by refreshments. Ruth was born to Anne and John Stoffels in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on November 2, 1927. She graduated high school in St. Paul, Minnesota. On July 17, 1946 she married the love of her life Peter Petersen, a Ramsey County Deputy Sheriff. Ruth retired from Norwest Bank (now Wells Fargo) in 1989. Ruth will probably be missed most for her sense of humor, quick witted sarcasm and ability to make people laugh and smile. She loved traveling, going to the lake cottage, trips to the casino, the Minnesota Twins, bloody mary happy hours, dining out and being waited on, playing (and winning) bingo and spending time with her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Peter, her son, Kirk, siblings Mary Lou Patrick and Jack Stoffels. She is survived by her daughter Nancy Petersen Dosemagen (Joseph), a brother in law Richard Patrick, a sister in law Barbara Kunkle, and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated. Her family and daughter Nancy, most especially, want to thank The Deerfield for making Ruth a part of their family and always making her feel cared for and loved. Thanks too for the extra care from St. Croix Hospice. Ruth will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
