Stephen Bryan Wahman

Steve was born in St. Paul and lived a full life of adventure and kindness. He was an Eagle Scout and was very proud to have served in the Navy during the Vietnam War from 1968-1972. His love for the outdoors was a thread woven throughout his life; fishing weekends with his dad and uncle, canoeing trips, most notably down the Mississippi River in his teens, long walks and bike rides, hiking Mt. Kilimanjaro in 2017 with his son, ample camping trips and his beloved Mt. Wrightson hike in Arizona. He was known to be unbelievably kind to every soul he met both big and small - dogs being his favorite. He loved a bowl of popcorn and a root beer float. He was an incredible dad who reveled at watching his children grow up, never missing a single activity and gave the most sincere compliments and strongest hugs. Later in life he moved to Sauhrita, Arizona to be with his love, Joan Linder where he spent many happy years in the sun. To know him was to love him and his laugh. He will be so very missed.

He is survived by his children Megan Wahman, Joseph (Lily) Wahman, Kori (Dayne) Smith, three beloved grandchildren; Navy, Odette and Lucas with a fourth on the way who he was very excited to meet in September, sister’s Linda Wahman and Chris Wahman, and nieces Michelle Penshorn, Jill (Tim) Shurley and nephew Thomas (Kim) Penshorn and many grand nieces and nephews. Since Steve’s passing his long-time love and partner Joan Linder has also passed away, our families are joyful they are together again.

He is preceded in death by his mother Helen Patrica Wahman and father Donald Joseph Wahman, Uncles Glenn Wahman and Jim Ashworth and Aunt Loretta Virgina Daggit.

A private burial at Fort Snelling is planned for this fall, with an informal celebration of life to follow. Details will be announced at a later date.
