Susan Marie Wessels

Sue was born on July 17th, 1965, in St. Paul, MN, to John and Sandra Wynne. She graduated from Hill-Murray High School in 1983. Sue moved to Grantsburg, WI where she spent most of her life as a stay at home mom raising her four sons. Sue loved spending time with her family and friends, and especially loved cheering on her grandchildren in all of their different activities. She was an avid NASCAR fan and spent her days crocheting, watching birds, and cherishing time with her grandchildren.

Sue is survived by her husband, James Wessels; her mother, Sandra Wynne; her sisters, Kathy Gillman (Michael), and Michele Narducci (Gary); her children, Matthew Hansen, Luke Hansen (Brittany), Joseph Hansen, and Robert Hansen (Tyler); her nine grandchildren, Logan, Kelly, Nick, Kylie, Stacie, Devin, Kacie, Harper, and Chase; her many nieces and nephews, and her many close friends.

Sue was preceded in death by her father John Wynne.

Sue will be remembered for her beautiful smile, contagious laugh, and her love of family. She had a way of bringing everyone together, making sure everyone felt welcome in her home, and spending time creating memories with her family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 4:00pm-7:00pm Monday, July 27, 2026 at Wulff Funeral Home, 2195 Woodlane Drive, Woodbury, MN.

Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 16770 13th Street S, Lake St. Croix Beach, MN at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior.

Luncheon will be provided immediately following the service at the church.

Interment at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Bayport, MN to follow luncheon.
