Thomas Joseph Duggan, age 92, passed away on January 31, 2021. Thomas was born on October 31, 1928 in St. Paul, MN. He is preceded in death by his wife, Joan. He is survived by his children, Daughter, Theresa; sons, Daniel (Gina) and Patrick (Geri); Grandchildren, Danielle, Matthew, Andrew, Lindsey and Shawn and 2 sisters, Peggy Seekon and Angela Robson.

Tom was a supply sergeant for the US Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Japan. When he returned stateside, he went to Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis and graduated at the top of his class as a machinist. But life took him in a different direction and he decided to become a St. Paul Firefighter/Paramedic. A career he was devoted to and truly loved for 27 years. He loved to travel with my Mom in their RV, and he was the world's best tinkerer. He was always working on, improving or repairing things.

Thomas was a loving husband, father and grandfather with a quick wit, enormous compassion and generosity. He will be deeply missed. Our family requests any gifts or donations be made to Kindred Hospice or the charity of your choice.

It is with deepest sympathy we send to your family Tom. We loved you and enjoyed spending time with you. Christmas was so much better with you here. I enjoyed hearing your stories about your work as a firefighter and loved seeing your photos and books on the fire department. I loved hanging back while others went to the table and we had a cocktail together. Our hearts hurt that we won't be able to do that again. Thank you for Theresa! She is awesome and we love her! I expect some cardinals outside our window next Christmas and we will have a place at the table for you! Love you Tom! Julie, John, Mattie, Laura ❤

Tom you will be missed deeply by all of us! We knew that you were tired and that you were ready to be with Joan. I am so happy that Dan, the kids and I were able to say goodbye and tell you that we loved you. ❤️ Memory: When I was dating Dan I heard stories of his dad and his Irish temper. They told me that when he got mad the entire neighborhood knew it. I thought to myself, that can’t be true. Until one day while they were visiting from Texas he dropped a jar of pickled cucumbers on the garage floor. Oh my goodness, now I know what everyone was talking about!!! Needless to say I stilled married into the Duggan family. 😉 I loved listening to his stories from his days of being a firefighter. He was so proud and had so many amazing stories.

“Those we love don’t go away. They walk beside us everyday. Unseen, unheard, but always near: still loved, still missed, and always dear. “

Love - Gina

Oh gosh Dad, what do I say? I love you. I am glad you are finally at peace. You struggled these last few months, yet you were still strong. Stronger than anyone I have ever known. Just like Mom 💕
Pat & I have been blessed to be your support in these times. Your never ending love and appreciation.
You rest now. You fought a good fight.
Say hi to Mom. And have that Scotch & soda with her.

Well I wasn’t there on ur last day. I thought u had a little more time and for that I am sorry! I know u were in pain everday for years. So now u rest. I know u worried about us and now ur gone. I promise we will be fine! I want to thank you for everything u have done for us. We will miss you so much! I know that Pat is going to miss you so much! He has been your side every weekend for years. He doesn’t know what he will do! It’s been his life caring for you and now your gone! You both were like twins! Joan and I would sit and look at u boys fixing something and swearing etc. and we would laugh and we would say look at those two red faced men! And now I can watch my boys with their father and I’m sure the will look the same and Joan and I would see! Lol It make me happy that ur now with Joan! You have missed her for those years she has been gone! So it makes me happy that’s u both are together again. So rest and we will see you on the other side. Please don’t worry we will be okay!
Love you
Geri, Pat
