Bill died peacefully at his home at Stonecrest in Woodbury, MN surrounded by his loving family. Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel. He is survived by his children, Sue Penney (Mike Brocco), Kate Bromann (Scot), Tom Penney (Lynn), Ellen Farrell (Rob); and his grandchildren Nick and Ben Bromann, Sam and Sophie Penney, Mackenzie and Erin Farrell. Bill attended the Colorado School of Mines and the University of Minnesota, where he received his doctorate in chemical engineering. He was a long time employee of 3M Company in St. Paul. He was an avid firearms collector and enthusiast, and owned and operated Bill’s Gun Shop and Range for many years. Bill’s life will be celebrated with a memorial service on Thursday, August 28 at 11 a.m. at Waverly Gardens, 5919 Centerville Rd., North Oaks, MN. Visitation at 10 a.m. Lunch to follow service.
