William J. Riepe of Woodbury passed away peacefully on January 7, 2021 at the age of 89. He was preceded in death by parents William and Margaret Riepe, one brother Norbert Riepe, one infant son William and one great-grandson Preston Talcott. Bill worked for 33 years at the Ramsey County Courthouse in the Recorder and Deeds offices and was an active member of Sacred Heart Church in St. Paul. He raised his family in St.Paul’s east side and then he and Sally moved to Newport where they enjoyed their retirement before residing at St. Therese of Woodbury. Bill enjoyed traveling, taking his family on many vacations over the years. He also enjoyed time at the family cabin on Trout Lake near Grand Rapids, MN. After retirement, he and Sally enjoyed international travel to Germany, Australia, New Zealand, and to Alaska and Hawaii. Bill is survived by his wife of 65 years, Rosella (Dischingher); daughter Sandra (John) Krenz, daughter Debra (Tom) Nyman, son Wayne Riepe and daughter Theresa (John) Witte; 11 grandchildren: Kenneth (Richelle) Johnson, John Paul (J.P) Krenz & Paul Reding, David Krenz, Devon (Shawn) Johnson, Krishana (Ben) Dempcy, Cameo Ayana, Joshua (Bella) Witte, Kevin (Paige) Riepe, Natalie (Colby) Talcott, Thomas Witte, and Nicole Riepe; and 2 great-grandchildren Nora Dempcy and Elijah Ayana. Private Family Service was held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on January 14, 2021 with Internment at Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights.
