

Carol was born on September 12, 1946, in Visalia, California, to Ray and Marjorie Lukens. She was a graduate of Woodlake High School and went on to dedicate more than 30 years as a school yard aide. Carol was beloved by students and staff alike for her gentle spirit, kindness, and genuine care for everyone she encountered.
In 1979, Carol married Ron Barkley, and together they built a life rooted in love and family. She cherished time spent with her loved ones, had a passion for photography, and found happiness in the quiet peace of country living.
Carol is survived by her husband of 47 years, Ron Barkley; her children, Russ Reed, Ray Barkley, Marjie Rivera, and Clayde Barkley, and her sister, Linda Velasco.
There were also her grandchildren who brought her so much joy: Nathan Reed, Logan Rivera, Isaiah Barkley, Lily Barkley, Lucas Rivera, Travis Barkley, and Isabella Barkley. She is also lovingly remembered by extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, along with her son, Wes Reed, and her brothers, Timothy Lukens and Leslie Lukens.
A memorial service will be held on May 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Miller Memorial Chapel in Woodlake. Pallbearers will be: Ron Barkley, Russ Reed, Ray Barkley, Clayde Barkley, Alonso Rivera, and Bret Thompson.
Carol will be remembered for her warmth, caring spirit, and the lasting impact she had on all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a mother to the world.
