

Story: Victor Moreno Zumaya, 52, of Woodlake, California passed away on July 3, 2013 at UCSF Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Victor was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was born in Jalisco, Mexico October 17, 1960 to Justino and Ramona Zumaya. After moving to Ivanhoe, California, he began working at Klink Citrus Packing House where he was employed for thirty years. He was well known and loved by his coworkers, to whom he was known as Tola. He will be remembered for his kindness and compassion. He treated everyone like family and always had a warm smile of his face. In 1982, he met the love of his life, Linda Torres of Woodlake. They married and he instantly inherited a family that he helped raise as his own and they had 31 happy years together.
Victor loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who knew him as Tata. He rarely missed any of his grandchildren’s school games and was present for every significant milestone in their lives. Victor enjoyed traveling, swimming in the ocean and camping at Pismo Beach. He was passionate about soccer and the Chivas of Guadalajara. Above all, he was a man of faith, and was an active member of the Cursillo movement.
He was preceded in death by his father Justino Zumaya, and Grandmother Marcelina Zumaya.
He is survived by his wife Linda and stepchildren: Barbara Hernandez and husband Xavier of Woodlake, Daniel Bocanegra and wife Annette of Visalia, Xavier Bocanegra and wife Melinda of Woodlake. He will never be forgotten by his grandchildren; Xavier Hernandez III, Alexandra Hernandez, James Hernandez, Taylor Bocanegra, Daniel Vic Bocanegra , Leesa Bocanegra, Emily Bocanegra, Xavier Bocanegra III, Gabriella Bocanegra. He is also survived by fourteen siblings and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations may be in Victor's memory to the American Cancer Society.
