Born July 25, 1939, in Rincon, PR, Aida was the 4th of 9 children of the late Esteban and Ramona Munoz Caro. As a child, she traveled with her family to Queens, NY, where she resided for the rest of her life.
Aida approached life with love, enthusiasm, strength, and resilience. She dedicated many years to being a stay-at-home mom. After leaving her position as secretary to the editor-in-chief at a large publishing company, she briefly returned to work for the NYC Board of Education, and later worked as a teller at a local bank.
Aida was a kind, loving, and generous person who always made time for others, prioritizing their needs. She maintained close relationships with her family, often reaching out with a phone call between visits.
With a keen sense of fashion, Aida enjoyed shopping for herself and others. When she was younger, she often sewed outfits for herself and her children. She also enjoyed going on outings. In addition, she loved cooking for family and experimenting with new recipes.
She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed having her picture taken. She enjoyed playing games like Scrabble and continued to play Chinese Checkers and cornhole in her later years. Aida also loved listening to music, singing, and dancing at community events and family celebrations. Most of all, she cherished spending quality time with her family.
Aida is survived by her husband of 61 years, Frank A. Sanchez; her son, Frank Sanchez; her daughter, Mildred Sanchez; two siblings, Brunilda Nevarez and Esteban Caro Jr.; and many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by six siblings: Wilfredo Caro, Anibal Caro, Juan A. Caro, William Caro, Delia Reyes, and Maribel Caro.
