Benjamin Tañega Padua of Woodside of New York passed away on February 13, 2021. Born in Quezon City, Manila, Philippines on April 30, 1946, to Paciencia and Anacleto Padua Sr., Benjamin was affectionately known by his nickname "Boy". Benjamin went on to graduate from Quezon City High School then later received his B.S in Engineering from Mapúa University in Manila, Philippines. A devout Catholic, he was an active member of the Cursillo Movement of the Sacred Heart Parish Church.
Years later, Benjamin made the great leap, and immigrated to the United States, in search of the American dream. Not too long after, he realized his dream and became a naturalized citizen of the United States. Benjamin worked as a Civil Engineer for the Department of Environmental Protection for New York City for over 37 years.
Though engineering was his expertise, his true passion was listening to music and enjoying singing karaoke. He loved listening to classic oldies, especially to Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra. An active game player, he loved playing billiards, chess, sudoku, and tennis.
Of most importance to Benjamin above all of his success in life, was his love for family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Aurora M. Padua, his son, Antonio, his daughter, Janette, his son-in-law Charles, his granddaughter Jianna Charlize and grandson Damien Jean.
He is also survived by his siblings, Bethsaida Padua, Anacleto Padua Jr., Carlo Padua, and Rosemarie Padua, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. He will reunite with his mother, Pacíencia Padua, his father, Anacleto Padua Sr., and his sister Frida Zamzam in the afterlife.
