

Beverly Denise Stevens was born into this life on February 8, 1964. Her light was extinguished on December 11, 2011.
Bev/Bee-Bee as she was affectionately known migrated to New York City from Brunswick, Georgia, at an early age and was educated in the New York City Public School system.
Beverly graduated from Flushing High School and went on to continued her higher education, first at Sullivan Community College, Ulster, NY and later at LaGuardia Community College, Queens, NY. Beverly worked in various Real Estate Offices as an office assistant until her health declined.
Beverly fellowship with the Astoria Baptist Church, Astoria, NY, where she later became a member under the leadership of Reverend Bobby Moore.
Beverly was a very pleasant, loving modest person with a gentle spirit and she loved her music and movies. As a young girl she was active in her neighborhood community center helping when and where she could. She always asked questions and had a very inquiring, inquisitive spirit.
Beverly knew the importance of family, friends, education, and generosity. Beverly had her own PhD. in sincerity and understanding. Throughout her life’s journey Beverly faced many obstacles that were health related. Hospital staff was amazed how Beverly was able to accept her illness. Never once did she complain. She never lost her faith in God.
She leaves to celebrate her memories: Her beloved daughter Shiretta Mitchell; her beloved mother, Helen L. Edmonds; her beloved sister, Tracey Edmonds-Bennett (Tarvis) of Las Vegas and long time companion, Jerome Mitchell. Her aunts: Etta Hines-Bute (Bill) of Queens, NY; Susan Hines of Inglewood, CA; Maxine Watkins (Clarence) of Jacksonville, FL., and dear close friend auntie Joyce H. Julian of Queens, NY. Her uncles: Hosea Hines (Starr) of Queens, NY and Ed Hines (Wanda) of Brunswick, GA; two nieces: Airman First Class LaShawnda Edmonds-Jones of Shreveport, LA; Teyanna Monet of Las Vegas and one nephew, Gerard Heard, Jr. of Las Vegas and a host of cousins other relatives and friends.
