Charles Lazarus

Charles Emerson Lazarus, age 74, of Roosevelt Island, New York passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Bird S. Coler Rehabilitation and Nursing Center where he had been a long-time resident. Charles was well-loved by his family, as well as the Coler staff of nurses, doctors, social workers, and rehabilitation personnel. Known for his gregarious smile, Charles could often be found traveling the halls, visiting with friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Deacon William Lazarus; mother, Reverend Lucille Lemon Lazarus; siblings, Mary Lazarus, Zoila Mae Porter, Walter Solomon Lazarus, and Louis "King" Lemon. Left to mourn his memory are his sisters, Carrie Lazarus of the Bronx, New York, and Evangelist Dorothy Lazarus of Fairburn, Georgia; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

A committal service for Charles will be held Tuesday, May 9, 2023 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Pinelawn Memorial Park, 2030 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, NY 11735.
