Cheryl Anne Gnus McDermott passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on March 11, 2026, at the age of 66. A lifelong resident of Sunnyside/Woodside, Cheryl cherished her community and the friendships she nurtured there.
Cheryl was the loving wife of Stephen, devoted mother of Jacquie and her husband James, Jessica, and Devin with his bride-to-be Sam. Most importantly, she was a cherished Mimi to her beloved grandson, Teddy.
Cheryl was the dear sister of Carol and her late husband Kevin, Craig and his wife Elizabeth, Michele and her husband Rico, Jean Marie, Kevin and his wife Stacey, and Lisa and her husband Anthony. She was also a treasured aunt to 17 nieces and nephews, and a great-aunt to 14 great nieces and nephews.
