Dear Chris,
Two nights ago I had a dream about you. I’ve had different versions of the same dream several times over the years. Always I am looking for you, trying to apologize for the way I handled the end of our relationship. Sometimes I find you, and when I do you always (sometimes reluctantly, sometimes without question) forgive me. I’ve tried to find you a few times in real life to apologize, with no luck. Today I searched for a trace of you and this is what I found.  I don’t think there is a word for how heartbroken I feel. I can only hope that you forgave me for being young and stupid and even more stubborn than you. You were the most beautiful person. You had a tough exterior but you were so sensitive, loving, and generous. You were an artist, able to create your own stories but endlessly appreciative of other people’s art. You took care of me and loved me at a time when I didn’t know how to love myself yet. I will carry you with me always. I am going to light a candle for you tomorrow, and one for your mother too. 
To Chris’s family: I am so sorry for the loss of him and for all you are grieving. Please know that I will never forget him. And please feel free to reach out to me if you want to talk about him or if you would like some of the beautiful pictures I have of him. My email is aclebsock@gmail.com.

My sincerest condolences to Chris's Family and Friends.  I met Chris at St. Francis College.  We were rival fraternity brothers.  Through the years and after college I spent time with him and his friends and learned a bit about him.  I remember his dream of being an actor. I hope he got to achieve it. He was always kind, polite and nice to me. 
You were born with a face of an angel.  Now God has called you to be one of them.  Rest in Peace my friend.  I am sorry we lost touch through the years.
