Dorothy Elizabeth Behan - Kiernan

Dottie was survived by her husband , Jim Kiernan, and her nieces and nephews, Stephen Ward, Catherine Milton, Patricia Howard, Thomas Milton, Michael O'Hara, Christopher O'Hara, Kevin O'Hara, Jennifer Petti and Kathleen Petti.

She is predeceased by her parents John behan and Mary O'Rourke Behan, her brother Jack, and her sisters Margaret Ward, Eileen Milton, Helen Behan, Sally O'Hara and Joan Petti.

Dottie was born and raised in the Bronx, After attending Walton High School, she began her career as a telephone operator with New York Telephone. Over the years Dottie rose to be part of the management at Verizon. After retiring from Verizon and spending some time in Spring Lake, NJ, Dottie began a second career with NBC Universal.

Dottie and Jim married in 2007 and Dottie became part of the Kiernan family including Jim's children, Anthony, Sara, and Edward and his grandchildren, Shawn, Jasmine, Chiara, Lela, Mark, Cora, Amelia and Sofia.

All through her life, Dottie and her sister Helen were close to their sister Helen were very close to their sisters and their nieces and nephews. Dottie had many friends in Jackson Heights and the St. Joan of Arc Church community including the St. Joan of Arc Irish American Association.

The family wishes to thank Dottie's caregiver Sandy Singh, for her devoted care of Dottie during her last illness.
