Hector was born on January 2, 1960 in Puerto Cortes, Honduras. His family moved to the United States and settled in New York in 1964. He passed away on May 24, 2025 in Queens, NY after a sudden illness. He is preceded in death by his parents Elvia and Domingo Morel and his sister Martha Ramsammy, and survived by his siblings Jose Morel, Vilma Angelino, Julio Morel, Carlos Morel, Roy Morel, Renee and Sandra Morel. He was loved by his immediate family members including his sister-in-law, Maxine Morel, and his nieces and nephews Jose Ramos, Hannah and Heather Morel, Andrew Ramsammy, Kevin Morel, Rene Morel, Karina Evangelisti, Kristy Ramsammy, Kezia Morel, Michael Morel, Lance Morel, Cassandra Dawson, Christopher Morel, Alexa Morel, Liana Morel and aunts, uncles, cousins, grand nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the following organizations: American Heart Association and/or American Diabetes Association.
A visitation for Hector will be held Wednesday, June 4, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Thomas M. Quinn & Sons Funeral Home, 41-45 58th Street, Woodside, NY 11377.
