Jim and me.  El Cajon, California, an impromptu party at the home of a close, mutual friend. It's too bad Jim isn't looking up. We were sharing a laugh— one of many, many, many laughs we'd share on that trip—or possibly somebody dropped a j. That tended to happen as the evening wore on. Damn, Jimbo. Life just a little emptier. Always thought we'd get one more time. You were a true amigo.

On the West Coast leg of the "Stars and Bars" U.S. tour, 1977 or '78. It was a gruelling experience for the duo, but they bore up well. In this fan photo, Jim was kind enough to take a few moments to drop in on a fan's birthday party.

The shirt, the hat, the koozie —- Jim was just the coolest! I am grateful for all of the music he helped introduce me to.  We’ll miss you deeply Jimbo.
