Jeanette McShane

Jeanette M. McShane (nee Boyd) passed away peacefully at home on January 26, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Peter T. McShane. Devoted mother of Anne Tracy and Jennifer Barrett. Adoring Gramma of Danny, Patrick, Sean and Jaclyn, and loving mother-in-law of Brian and Kevin. Devoted sister and best friend of Mary T. Bishop. Loving daughter of the late James T. and Mary (Mollie) Boyd (nee Burns). She was also predeceased by her dear sisters Joan Boyd and Ann Tyburski, and brothers-in-law Frank Tyburski and Walter P. Bishop. She was a loving cousin and devoted Aunt and Great-Aunt to the Bishop, Tyburski and Yurasek families.

She spent many years as an active volunteer for various programs at St. Sebastian School, Church and Parish Center. She was a pre-school teacher in the Parish center for 18 years where she was fondly known as “Miss Jeanette”. She was also a Religious Education Teacher and assisted in the school library. She was chosen, along with her sister Mary, to become one of the first Eucharistic Ministers for the Parish, serving her fellow parishioners at mass, visiting the homebound, and bringing communion to the sick and new mothers at St. John’s Hospital. A resident of the Phipps Garden Apartments for 50 years and active member of the Tenants Association. She always found much happiness in helping others. Her favorite season was Baseball Season, and she loved her New York Mets. Her devotion to God and her family was always evident and she was kind to everyone. She always said, “I am the luckiest person in the world”. You have blessed us with so many wonderful memories. Rest In Peace Sweet Mom. We Love You!
