Joseph Michael McAndrews

He is survived by his children Joseph “Jay” McAndrews and wife Madeline; Kenneth McAndrews, Bonnie McAndrews, and David McAndrews and wife Linda; and Grandchildren Sydney and Jamie. He was preceded in death by his parents Peter and Rose McAndrews and brothers Edward, Peter and Thomas .

Joe was born on September 5, 1929 in New York. He served as an infantryman in the Korean War. After the war he studied at the Merchant Marine Academy. Joseph was married to Francis Escudero, worked for Sperry Gyroscope, Grumman and New York Telephone as well as being an entrepreneur and inventor.

While raising his family in Freeport, NY Joe served as President of the Board of Education, coached little league baseball and ran for mayor of the village.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Kennedy-Roth Funeral Home, 41-45 58th Street, Woodside, NY. Visitation on Sunday, July 20, 2025 from 2-7 pm at the funeral home. Final gathering Monday July 21, 2025 9:30 am.

Burial Service following at Calverton National Cemetery 12 noon.

A visitation will be held at Kennedy-Roth Funeral Home, located at 41-45 58th Street, Woodside, NY, 11377, on July 20, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

The committal service will take place at Calverton National Cemetery, located in Wading River, NY, 11792, on July 21, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
