Joseph was born October 12,1938, the son of Joseph A. Walsh and Frances M. Gambino and brother of Frank X. Walsh, and great uncle to Katherine M. Dombrowski, all of whom predeceased him.
Joe is survived by his nieces Kathleen Walsh Dombrowski and Sara and husband Jim O’Neill and his nephew Kevin and wife Tika Walsh. Joe is also survived by his great niece and nephews; Tanner, Reilly and Cameron Walsh, Jack Dombrowski and Aerin and George O’Neill. As well as several cousins and dear friends, all of whom will miss him tremendously.
Joe graduated High School and joined his father as well as his mother working for Metropolitan Life in Manhattan for many years until his retirement.
Joseph was a lifelong member of St. Joan Of Arc, a member of the Knights of Columbus and greatly enjoyed frequenting the Catherine Sheridan Senior Center.
Joe was a kind and loving man with a wonderful sense of humor - never dwelling on troubles, on the contrary, always sunny in disposition.
Joe was a well known personality in the neighborhood and would welcome each person he met with a kind word, a clever quip and a tip of the hat in greeting to all he encountered. Joe read the newspaper from cover to cover daily and could surprise you with his understanding and comments of current events. He was a true original. As Uncle Joe would often say “It’s an Honor, a privilege and a humble delight “ and this now aptly applies to knowing you. Joseph will be dearly missed.
