Just heard the news - a year + later. Lewis was a wonderful artist. So sorry.

I was sad and shocked by the passing of Lewis, partly because we are the same age. I am a long time artist friend of Lewis and we were in many art shows together. He was awkwardly shy and always asked me for advice on how to progress his art career. I always helped him because he was a very talented painter and l wanted him to suceed . I hope to see a memorial retrospective exhibition of his work in the near future in Monmoth county.

I have many fond memories of my Uncle Louie. He always had a great story and a fond memory. I don't know how he knew as much as he did, but it was always incredible! Little facts, events, dates, I'm convinced that he remembered everything he learned. It was impressive, and made for great chats and time together. I learned a lot about our family from my Uncle Louie and for that I am eternally grateful!

The sisters and relatives of Lewis truly appreciated the notes from those who worked in the building Lewis "guarded" . Louie shared that he walked 2 miles in the snow to be at work when NJ had that crazy blizzard was it two years ago? I know Lou took his job seriously and it is heart warming to have heard from two of you. thank you kindly. his sister Denise

 When I was young, ( I don't know what age maybe 5 ys old), my brother and I were playing outside in between the garages in the backyard.  It was summer and we were walking on top of a pile of wood in our flip flops, trying to balance ourselves.  The wood pile shifted and down I went onto an old dirty nail in a piece of wood.  It had gone right through my foot (I can still remember the crunching feeling and sound.)Lewie seemed to me like a superhero swooping me off my feet, carrying me in his arms into the kitchen, wood stillattached. My mother began the home remedy care.  That memory remained strong throughout my life and shaped my bond with him.
  I always saw my brother as my loving and protective brother.

Lou was a security officer in the building I used to work.  He was the best and always on the job. He always had a quirky story or thought and would make you laugh when you least expected it.  He will be missed.  I always joked when I got rich and famous he'd be the head of my security team.  He was the best.  Please accept my condolences to his family.  Sorry for you loss.

I can still see Uncle Louie's smile and hear his deep laugh.  We would play chess together and I only won 1 time.  He moved himself into checkmate and when I quickly took his king he said, "Wait a minute!  Let's take a look at this.  Now how did that happen?"  He taught me how to start of the game by using he pawns properly.  Uncle Louie was always a deep thinker and I really liked that about him.  His artwork inspired me to purse art at a young age.  His stories about our relatives and his collection of old family photographs were always something I enjoyed seeing.  At the age of 10 he took me to a baseball card show.  We had a great time going from table to table looking at historic cards like Mickey Mantle and Willie Mays.  Then he bought me a 1988 Tops baseball card set and a photo album to place them in.  He said, "Now hang on to these because they will be valuable some day."  I still have them.  I will honor Uncle Louie by holding the memories that he shared with us deep inside my heart and remember the joy that he brought to myself and others.

So sorry to hear of Lewis' passing. For those of us who worked in the office park on Newman Springs rd in Red Bank we will miss him. My office just found out today that he passed.  Our condolences to his entire family and friends.

Although Geography has separated us a majority of my life i have many great memories of my uncle lewis.  Between hours he spent teaching me the finer points of chess strategy building with blocks, or late night chats over coffee. I will carry his name proudly as part of me and i will always love the paintings he made for my nursery.

Uncle Louie was the funniest uncle I had.  He was quirky and I remember enjoying several times sitting at Grandma's dining room table drawing with him.  We drew a circus drawing & another of animals in a jungle.  The jungle drawing/painting hung in my daughter bedroom when she was small. I wish we had lived closer to him so we would have known him better.  I will always remember my times with uncle Louie with a big smile on my face.

Oh uncle Louie.  You offered us years of laughter, filled of stories, and quick whit!  You were so dearly loved and will be missed terribly!

Lew was always my little brother, no matter how tall he got, no matter that years went by and he was actually a grownup.  He's still the little kid who was caught decorating the walls of his bedroom, making mountains and trees and battalions of men "I was just making it beautiful!" he said to mother, and she could not even punish him for it.
His funniest quirk was that starting in October every year he would save all the Sunday comics, and just before Christmas he would stand at the top of the stairs hollering for me until I showed up; and he'd say "Come here!"  In his room would be a pile of gifts and the funny papers, and I would do the wrapping of all that stuff.  He would say thank you and then he would go to the top of the stairs and start hollering for Denise.  I assume she had the joy of wrapping a gift for me in the last page of comics.  Our brother -- we will always remember him with a smile.

Louie was my older brother. He made me laugh! His humor was quirkey and his whitt was so much like our dads.  I still can't believe he is gone. I have memories I will treasure from childhood and more recent memories from Wedding days he shared with our family. My family, my husband  Bruce,Neices  Joy, Faith and Nephew Peter all join me in remembering my brother, their uncle Louie. warmly remembered by his sister Denise
