Lina was a cherished wife to Nicolas, and a loving mother to Therese and husband, Edgar; Christine and husband, Jovian; Paul and wife, Carrie; and Raymund and wife, Catherine. She was the ever-caring and thoughtful grandmother to Erica, Jacob, Ethan and Raphael, and she was always looking forward to spending time with her Apo’s. She was predeceased by her parents, Benjamin and Melecia. Her love extends to her siblings as well as to all her nieces and nephews who have so many fond memories of her. People who have worked for her can attest to the kindness, generosity and inspiration that she had shown and exemplified.
As a dedicated educator, Lina was instrumental in the academic formation of countless students of Bacolod City National High School for four decades - who, themselves, have grown into successful professionals in their own respective fields.
For leisure, Lina would find happiness in baking gourmet pastries and cakes, as well as in playing the piano.
As a devout servant of the Catholic Church, Lina faithfully served as a member of the Mother Butler Guild in the Parish of St. Joseph the Worker, Dona Juliana Subdivision, Bacolod City, Philippines. She was also a devotee of Senior Santo Nino, and St. Joseph the Worker – continuing the family tradition of “San Jose”.
Despite the decline in her health, Lina remained steadfast and dedicated to the Catholic faith - receiving the Last Rites and Viaticum on the day of her death, administered by Monsignor Hoppe of St. Joan of Arc Church, Jackson Heights, New York.
Lina will be dearly missed. Heaven gained an angel.
