

Lorina Teresa Shepherd was born on February 24, 1932 at Ancon Hospital in the Ancon Panama's Canal Zone to the late Isaac and Emily Voitier-Shepherd. She grew up in Red Tank in Panama’s Canal Zone. She also attended and graduated from Escuela Santa Familia, an all girls Roman Catholic School, located in Panama City.
Lorina was the youngest of five children. She grew up with her older siblings, Ferdinand, Zola, Calvin, and Clement in Red Tank, located in the Panama’s Canal Zone.
After graduation, Lorina came to the United States to live with her family in Brooklyn, NY in the early 1950’s. Shortly after arriving in New York, she worked at the American Express Company. Then she met and married her husband the late Fredric Monte Goddard on May 26, 1956. Through this union, they welcomed five children: Ingrid, Valerie, Fredric, Jr., Rodney and Melissa. While raising her children, Lorina worked for the United States Postal Service and retired in 1992. After retiring, she enjoyed spending time with her family, participating in faith activities, traveling, amusement parks, and concerts.
Lorina is survived by all of her children Ingrid Goddard-Joyner (Brooklyn, NY) Valerie Goddard (Queens Village, NY), Fredric Goddard, JR. (Bronx NY), Rodney Goddard (Flushing, NY), and Melissa Goddard-Molina (Jackson Heights, NY), and her 7 grandchildren: Jenel Owens-Petersen( Washington DC), Candace Joyner (Brooklyn, NY), Raynita Owens (Queens Village, NY), Daryl Goddard (Atlanta, GA), Taylor Owens (Queens Village, NY) Anthony Molina, Jr., (Jackson Heights, NY), and Emmanuel Molina(Jackson Heights, NY), as well as her great grandchildren: Jeniah Petersen, Frank Petersen,V, and Parker Petersen all from Washington, DC). She is also survived by her brother Clement Shepherd, and her sisters in- law, Zenneta Shepherd and Olivia Shepherd, cousins, nieces, nephews, daughter in-law Fior Goddard, sons in-law Tony Joyner and the late Anthony Molina, Sr., and ,and a host of loving friends.
During Lorina’s illness she was cared for by her loving children and grandchildren. The last few years of her life, she was cared for by her loving niece, Celia Clovie of Bartonsville, PA.
