Margaret Murphy was born on March 30, 1924 to Mary Etta White and James Murphy in Kershaw North Carolina. She came to know the Lord at an early age, joined the church and was baptized in her early teens. Margaret relocated to Durham North Carolina and graduated from Hillside High School. She moved to New York and continued in training as a Social Worker for the New York City welfare Dept. until retirement. Margaret was a quiet person, she would speak her mind about wrong or unfair behavior but hold no animosity afterwards. She believed in peace with everyone. Margaret became a mother of two sons whom were her pride and joy. Her most happiest times were spent with her sons, she enjoyed being with them, eating together, and going out together as a family. They were known as “Margaret’s Boys” because they were always with her. She will be deeply missed.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son Ralph Murphy & his wife Yvette, son Anthony Murphy, one sister Mamie White, nieces & nephews Margaret McGuiness, Myrna Wilson, Patricia Wilson, Mamie Richardson, Thomas Wilson, Perry Wilson, Betty Daniels, Randolph Murphy, George Lewis and a special couple that was like a daughter and son Vanessa Finch and Alan Hughes.
Arrangements under the direction of Thomas M. Quinn & Sons, Astoria, NY.
