Mary Christina Frayne (Sullivan), of Bedford, Texas died peacefully at Encompass Rehabilitation on July 14, 2026. Mary was Born in Ireland and immigrated to the United States at 19 years old. She arrived in New York, in 1952. In New York she met, fell in love and married Thomas Kevin Frayne in 1955 – together they started a family and had two sons Kevin John and Stephen Anthony. Mary and Thomas were married for 23 years prior to Thomas’s sudden and unexpected passing in 1978.

In 1982, Mary moved from New York to Texas as part of the Caltex corporate relocation. She worked for Caltex for 30 years.

She loved to dance. She took classes. She was active in St. Michael’s ministries - Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Funeral Ministry, and the RCIA program.

She loved family and being connected to her brothers and sisters and countless nieces and nephews. She was a terrific mom, grandma and great grandma. She never missed an occasion - always a card, or visit, or call - always at the ready to be part of the photograph. She sent countless care packages that seemed wrapped to survive any calamity.

Mary faced life’s challenges with courage and grace. Whether coming to the U.S. to start a new life, carrying on when she lost her husband at a young age or facing the health challenges that came on recently, she carried on with a smile and her faith, ready for what came next. All that met her were impressed by her spirit and determination to push forward and find joy in what comes next.

She will be terribly missed by her sons, Kevin and Stephen and his wife, Beth; her grandsons: Stephen, wife Merry and daughter Elizabeth; Christopher and his wife Michelle.
