Aunt Mary was the kind of aunt whose stories drew you in completely—her recollections of the past, her reflections on life, each one told with such honesty and heart. Listening to her, you could laugh, cry, and even say “Stop!”—yet still find yourself wanting more, hoping she’d keep going just a little longer.

Some of my best memories are of her sharing stories about her brother—my dad—and my mom over the years. Those moments will always stay with me. And if you ever asked her a question or for her opinion, you knew to be ready—she would tell you exactly what she thought, holding nothing back, in her unmistakable Aunt Mary way.

Rest easy, Aunt Mary. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
