Monica Amrhein

Monica I. Pirez Amrhein 40, of Astoria, New York, entered into eternal rest on August 11, 2014. She was born in Flushing, New York on May 1, 1974 to her parents Juan and Catherine Pirez. Monica graduated from Saint John’s Prep High School and attended Stony Brook University. She was married to Christian Amrhein on February 2, 2012.

Monica worked in Accounting as an office manager for Kaufman & Fuks. She was a member of PANCAN (Pancreatic Cancer Action Network) Monica had a passion for singing, drawing, she was a lover of life. She loved nature and all its beauty. Intelligent, sarcastic, with a witty sense of humor, Monica brought sunshine to everyone she met. She believed in fairy tales, pixie dust and unicorns. Courageous like no other, Monica was an inspiration to all of us. Monica was survived by her husband Christian Amrhein, her two children Kyle Alexander Pirez and Isabella Catherine Amrhein, her parents Juan and Catherine Pirez, and her sisters Deana Alfonso and Natalie Thon. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00am on August 15, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Church.
