Nancy spent her life in New York City and resided in a Jackson Heights neighborhood she loved. She was a devoted parishioner at the St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church in Jackson Heights and took great comfort in her faith. Nancy was a strong independent woman who loved generously. She enjoyed traveling, especially her trip to Ireland! She was a voracious reader, amateur stamp collector, and captivating storyteller.
Nancy retired from Marvel Comics after more than 40 years of archiving original art and managing the subscription department. She was well-known at Marvel as Fancy Nancy and has been fondly remembered by her Marvel contemporaries as kind, intelligent, strong-willed, and fiercely protective of original artwork.
Nancy was predeceased by her parents Thomas and Catherine (McGinn) Murphy and the love of her life, Terrence (Terry) McLoughlin. She was beloved by her cousins Mary Doris (Steeves) McCarthy and Thomas Wilson and their families. Nancy is survived by an extended family who will miss her laughter and her stories.
Nancy’s long and beautiful life was also filled with friends and neighbors whose love lit up her days. Her family is forever grateful for the care and support they provided. She loved you all dearly.
