

With her first husband Montserrate, she was the mother of seven children, but unfortunately was pre-deceased by a son. She raised six daughters, and moved them to Brooklyn in 1956. Montserrate passed before her in Puerto Rico. In Brooklyn Patria remarried, but eventually divorced her second husband Andres.
She was a devout Catholic and an active member of the now closed St Malachy’s Church where she proudly served as a Eucharistic Minister for over 30 years. Her favorite hobbies were word puzzles, which she did every night before bed, crafts such as embroidery, crocheting, and making handmade rosaries. She loved Dominos, Bingo, ice-cream and especially coffee. She even introduced a love of coffee to a few of her children and grandchildren.
She was the matriarch of a now large family comprised of her six daughters; Milagros, Sonia, Carmen, Martha, Maria, and Arelis; as well as their spouses and eighteen living grandchildren; Louis, Alexander, David, Javier, Radames, Rene, Annette, Yvette, Jose, Maria, Louis, Kenneth, Patricia, Melanie, Richard, Arelis, Eric and Nicole.
In addition there are twenty-six great grandchildren and nine great -great grandchildren with two more arriving soon.
The wake will be held on Tuesday, July 31st from 3:00pm to 8:00pm at the Kennedy Roth Funeral Home, 4145 58th Street, Woodside, NY 11377. The funeral mass will be on Wednesday, August 1st at 11:00am at St. Sebastian’s R.C. Church, at the corner of Roosevelt Avenue and 58th Street in Woodside.
