It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patrick Aidan O’Reilly on December 17, 2019.

Pat, a.k.a. Aidan, a.k.a. Freddy will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Anna; his daughters Maureen (David), Helen (Jordan), Patricia (Ariel); and his 10 grandchildren Grace, Claire, Danny, Conor, Lucy, Ian, Thomas, Eileen, Joshua, and Alice.

He is also survived by his sister, Margaret; his nieces Kathy (Rob), Mary (John); and his nephew Tommy (Christine).

Pat was born in County Clare, Ireland, a country he loved with all his heart and he worked to pass that love onto his children by keeping up all the traditions of his homeland. He loved Irish music and could be found most Sundays sitting on the couch, tapping his feet to the Irish program on the radio after Mass.

He held many jobs over his life, but most enjoyed his work with the NYC MTA as a train operator. Pat also worked tirelessly trying to help those struggling with addiction. He was a fiercely faithful man who found comfort and strength from the Lord throughout his life.

Pat enjoyed the simple things in life: a long walk, a good joke, and a fine cuppa tea. His genuine kindness and sense of humor will be missed greatly by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital would be appreciated.

I am very sad to hear that my cousin, Pat, has passed away. It has been a wonderful experience to have met Pat and Ann so many years ago and to have been able to keep in contact with them for all these years. It has meant a lot to me.

I offer my condolences to Ann, her girls, grandchildren, and the rest of the family as you say goodbye. And, it is my hope that Pat is now
walking with the angels in heaven. Peace to all.
