Mr. Robert Herman

Robert “Skip” Herman was born September 17, 1924 at Bellvue Hospital in New York City, New York to his parents Robert Herman Sr. and the former Helen Davis. Robert and the former Josephine Barbieri married on July 29, 1945, he was a loving husband to his wife Josephine until she passed in May of 1991. Robert was a dedicated father to Carol who passed away in 2001 and her husband Herbie, Barbara and her husband Tom and Denise and her husband Vito . Proud and devoted Grandfather of 7, Anthony, Danielle, Frank, David, Tom. Christopher and Melissa and Great Grandfather of 4, Kyle, Amanda, Alexa, and Jenna.

Robert’s loves were the NY Mets until he was pressured into wearing a NY Yankees hat by a son in law. He enjoyed watching all the Boston Red Sox games so we knew that he was a closet fan but would not admit it because he was afraid of Yankee fans. Robert grew up in NYC but moved to Queens where he resided until 2010. He spent the last 13 months living in Syosset where he enjoyed sitting in front of the house waving to all the passerby’s. He worked as a Doorman until his retirement.

Skip, we love you and hope that you have found peace beside your true love Josephine. You will truly be missed. Rest in Peace
