Sophie Cole, 87, passed away on June 25, 2021. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 8, 1933 to Jennie and Frank Sobeski. She married her husband Ray in 1958 and moved to Woodside, NY. They remained married until his death in 2006.
Sophie was an avid walker and reader, who loved cooking, theater and museums. She embraced life and enjoyed a wide circle of friends. Sophie was passionate about knowledge and that was a constant throughout her life. A very special lady who will be missed terribly.
Visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00 PM on June 29, 2021 at Kennedy-Roth Funeral Home at 41-45 58 Street in Woodside. Funeral mass will be at St. Sebastian's on June 30, 2021 at 10:45 AM, followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery.
Sophie is survived by her children Laura and Ray. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, The NYC Rescue Mission, Alzheimer's Association or Bide-a-wee in her name.
