For the brief times I got to spend with Thomas, he always made me smile and laugh. His personality and humor shined brighter than the sun. Thomas was a loving uncle, brother, son, and friend, and you could see that when he's around his family and friends. Rest in peace, Thomas. You will always be in our hearts.

Jay came home from spending a day with his mother and uncle Tom, stating with great surprise! "Vilma, my  brother picked up and lifted the baby" !!!

Since that day Tom took on his role as a devoted uncle.

Words cannot express the gratitude I feel as a mother knowing my daughter's life was enriched by Uncle Tom's heartfelt love for her in her formative years. 

Melissa  shared with me throughout the years her  memories with Uncle Tom. 

Thank you for being her greatest uncle.

Vilma

Uncle Tommy taught me everything he knows from the dinosaurs to outer space (our favorite topic) and baseball. We've been to the rainforest and the Grand Canyon. We've gone to the World Series, play offs, and many subway series games. He once let me pull a slot machine in Las Vegas when I was 9 years old! (Then I got kicked out). 

I can't begin to count the ways he has shaped the person I am today or fully articulate how he was a main component of my life. I can only hope and pray that I gave back even a portion of all he's done for me. 

I cannot think of this as goodbye. I can only continue to be the person you helped me become until we see each other again.

Thomas was my brother and we had a strong family bond.  When he got sick, I brought him from the family home in Queens NY to my home in Orlando , Florida to take care of him. He was well loved

My at-home karaoke partner of Frank Sinatra songs, my food shopping, card playing and foodie/eating buddy- you will be missed. I am fortunate to have spent time with you during those hilarious and funny moments, as well as the difficult moments, too. I am equally as grateful to have said my final good-byes. Though the passing of a family member is never, ever easy, we find comfort knowing that you are now resting peacefully. So, rest in peace, Thomas. You may be gone physically, but trust me, you will never be forgotten.
