Born on March 8, 1934, in Eastman, Georgia, Alenia was the daughter of the late Alfred and Alberta Hardy. She lived a life defined by faith, service, dedication to family, and a deep love for others.
Alenia devoted her career to helping those in need as a teacher for the State of Georgia, working with children and adults with disabilities. Her patience, compassion, and caring spirit touched countless lives. She often opened her home and heart to those she served, even welcoming some to stay with her on weekends. Her commitment to helping others reflected the devotion that characterized her entire life.
Family was at the center of everything Alenia did. She loved her family deeply and played an important role in helping raise her grandchildren, who knew her as "Nana". The best Nana around, she took great pleasure in spoiling her grandchildren "rotten". Alenia was known for her delicious Southern cooking, whether it be a pan of biscuits, a cheesecake, or everything in between. She was known for her steadfast nature and strong will. Alenia could be stubborn at times, but those who knew her best understood that if you treated her right, she would treat you right. Her loyalty, strength, and unwavering love earned the respect and affection of all who knew her.
A faithful member of First Baptist Church of Woodstock for many years, Alenia loved her church family and remained actively involved throughout her life. Following her retirement from teaching, she continued serving others through the church's Clothes Closet ministry, where she found joy in helping members of the community.
Alenia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gerald Holt; her parents, Alfred, and Alberta Hardy; her brothers, Norman Hardy, Watson Hardy, Leo Hardy, Paul Hardy, Hoke Hardy, and A.D. Hardy; and her sisters, Azalee Gatlin, Aleene Ragan, Loyce Shadix, Doreen Webb, Mae Weaver, and Gladys Bohanan. She outlived all twelve of her siblings.
She is survived by her son, Mike Holt; her daughter, Sherry (Don) Greene; her grandchildren, Tyler Greene, and Nicole (Travis) Lampert; and her great-grandchildren Sierra Lampert and Hudson Lampert. She also leaves behind many extended family members, friends, church members, former students, and others whose lives were enriched by her love and kindness.

Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, June 22, 2026, in the chapel of Woodstock Funeral Home. A reception will be held immediately following the service.
Alenia will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, June 22, 2026, at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park, 1861 Dallas Highway, Marietta, Georgia.
Alenia's legacy of faith, service, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
