We met Michelle and Rob when we moved into ‘the neighborhood’. I call it that because it is where my children joined a group of fearless, playful, fun-loving kids who spent afternoons digging and riding bikes (or whatever had wheels)and laughing-moving from house making memories together. As a parent, it was the kind of childhood you hoped to give your children. The Barrett house was part of that mix. I don’t have a single memory of that time without them. Michelle and Rob were kind, generous, thoughtful neighbors and friends.
Michelle was one of the funniest and most authentic people I’ve ever known. She had the biggest heart and gave it away everyday. Until we meet again, dear friend.

Michelle was my very best friend, that aside she will always be the best person I’ve ever known.
She had the quickest wit of anyone and the most forgiving heart, she had strength that one could only wish to emulate.
She loved her family and echoed what family should be.
One of my fondest memories, of a lifetime of them has to be when we went to the butterfly house for my birthday. She was so excited to take me there! She was filled with joy and just beaming with pride. I have so many memories, so many belly laughs, tears and hours upon hours of deep conversation to cherish. I’m so proud of Michelle, I never imagined in my lifetime that I would ever deserve a friendship such as we shared. My sympathy goes out to all who loved her, for an incredible loss.

To The Blalock,Barrett clan, thank you for always making me feel welcomed, as well as loved. RIP Michelle

Michelle was beautiful inside and out. In high school, she was spunky and funny and always included everyone. She showed such kindness and grace through the years. Everytime we met, she always asked about my parents and bragged on her kids! She had a zest for life and I know she will be missed by many.....

Michelle was a very independent, strong and brave woman who was also compassionate, kind and loving - and wicked funny - all at the same time. She was fiercely loved by my brother, Rob, and told me once that she thought that her PSP might have been triggered by losing him. Michelle's sense of humor was "twisted" (like the Barrett humor) and I remember once she told me that she had to "staple her kids to the floor" to get them to behave. I told her I tried that, but they got loose! You should have seen the looks we got! We just walked away - no explanation. The way that Michelle faced her PSP was nothing short of inspirational - she never got mad, never felt sorry for herself, never complained. Just handled it with grace and dignity. Michelle was loved by both my husband, Charles, and I. I will miss her, Charles is with her now! Rest High, Michelle! With Love, Kathy

Michelle was such a brave, independent and strong soul but all while remaining kind, funny and compassionate. She had a huge heart and amazing sense of humor. I remember the time we got strange looks because o asked her how the kinds were doing, and she said she had to staple them to the floor. I said, "I had to do that when I was watching them!" The looks we got! I was inspired by the way she handled her disease... never getting angry but handling it with grace and strength. She was amazing and I am so proud to call her my sister-in-law may she rest high!

Ms. Michelle was kind, friendly, and always put you at ease. She appeared to take the challenges of life with quiet confidence and a smile, seeming unperturbed even among a bunch of excitable neighborhood kids. Ms. Michelle added to the world, rather than taking away, and will be missed greatly.

I remember Michelle as a warm, loving and caring person and the love of my nephew, Rob's life. She was the mother of four wonderful children and grandmother and aunt to many more. Her love of family was a top priority with her. I seldom was able to spend time with Michelle due to living in Virginia, but remember with much love the times we were able to be together. My heart goes out to all of her family, but particularly to her children Savanna Massey and her husband William, Skyelar Barrett, Sierra Barrett and her husband Huston McKinney, and Sterling Barrett and his wife Shannon. My love and prayers are with you!

I have so many memories from working with Michelle at the doctors office years ago. We always vented to each other about crap going down, we would meet for margaritas after work and frequently had Mexican for lunch. We even won tickets to an American idol concert and we took her convertible car to the concert.
She was at our wedding and we had such a good time. Pretty sure she was always smiling and she definitely taught me to make the best of any situation and how to handle insurance companies when we worked together.
She will be sooo missed!!!

There was never a dull moment when Michelle was around. When I was a kid, there was no one cooler than her! I thought she was the most beautiful, funniest person in the world. I wanted to dress like her, wear my hair like her, talk like her…I’m sure I drove her crazy when we would visit. As we all got older, I loved seeing her whenever we had family gatherings. She was funny, thoughtful and generous. Michelle was one of a kind, and she will be missed❤️
