Annie's parents, Marie Brule and Eduard Poffe, were both teachers, and under their encouragement Annie went to college and also became a teacher. Annie's true passion, however, was the culinary arts. After spending many years as the wife of a diplomat, she settled in Atlanta and started a catering business. Although she catered hundreds of events, her greatest joy was entertaining friends and family. Her gatherings were known for delicious five course meals. Annie also enjoyed collecting antiques, quilting, reading, lace-making and adored the many dogs she had over the span of her life.
Annie loved being with her family. She out-lived her son, Erwin Craeninckx who passed away in 2014. She is survived by her daughter, Ingrid Zito and husband Jeffrey Zito; her grand-daughter Danielle Stevens and husband Mike Stevens and their 3 children, Marijke Robertson, Myla Stevens and Sebastian Stevens; and her grand-son Jacques Gody.
Annie Craeninckx's life was a testament to the power of strength and perseverance.
A funeral service for Annie will be held Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 10:00 AM at Woodstock Funeral Home, Inc., 8855 Main Street, Woodstock, GA 30188. Following the funeral service will be a committal service from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Cherokee Memorial Park, 120 Memorial Dr, Canton, GA 30114.
