

Ben Hopkins Marvin, Jr. age 76, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026.Ben was born on April 28th, 1950, in Ypsilanti, MI, son of the late Ben Hopkins Marvin, Sr. and Pam Sorby Marvin.Ben retired from The Local 72 Union as a Master Control Technician after thirty-nine years of dedicated service. Ben found joy in life's simple pleasures. In his younger years, he loved spending time outdoors, fishing, camping, and hiking whenever he had the chance. He was a skilled craftsman who enjoyed working with his hands and took great pride in building houses and creating things that would last. Ben also loved traveling, especially to Anna Maria Island, where he made many cherished memories with family. He had a special affection for animals and was always drawn to their companionship and unconditional love. Ben was happiest in the kitchen, cooking, baking, and puttering around while preparing meals for those he loved. Family gatherings were often centered around his cooking, and his pork chops smothered with tomatoes became a favorite dish that will be fondly remembered for years to come.Ben is survived by his loving wife of sixty-one years, Aurelia “Augie” Marvin; son, Ben (Allison) Hopkins Marvin, III; daughter, Corie (Vince) Mattio; sister, Julie Larson; beloved grand dog, Banks Marvin.A private family Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at a later date.Poole Funeral Home, 1970 Eagle Dr., Woodstock, GA 30189, is honored to serve Mr. Marvin’s family during this difficult time.
