Bennie Gunter

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Bennie M Gunter of Acworth, Georgia, born September 25, 1944. Bennie left us peacefully, surrounded by family and loved ones. His departure leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him. Bennie enjoyed racing, fishing, and hunting with the kids and grandchildren.

Bennie was a cherished member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church, known for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His legacy of love and dedication will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Bennie was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Major Gunter, his mother, Voncile Holcombe, a brother Jerry Gunter, and a daughter, Jana Lea Gunter.

Bennie is survived by his loving wife, Betty Jo Gunter (Bates), children, Marlin Gunter (Dawn) and Joey Gunter (Kristi), 1 granddaughter Jana Shook (Brett), 5 grandsons, Joshua Gunter, Andrew Gunter, Austen Gunter, Aaron Gunter, and Avery Gunter. He also had 2 great granddaughters, Adreona and Braelyn Shook, and a host of extended family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and selflessness that will continue to inspire those who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Leukemia Society, in Bennie's honor. His memory will forever live on in our hearts.

Rest in peace, Bennie. You will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
