Beverly Jean Rupp Dunbar

Ms. Beverly Jean Dunbar, 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 19 at home in Canton, GA. She loved to play cards, bowl and golf with her friends in both Canton, GA and Lady Lake, FL. She also enjoyed trips with her friends to the casinos while she lived in Lady lake, FL. Ms. Dunbar is the oldest daughter of the late John and Thelma Rupp and was raised in Evansville, IN. She worked thirty –one years for Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY as a nurse prior to retiring in 1989. Ms. Dunbar is survived by: two sisters, Sara Happel (Lady Lake, FL) and Charlotte Gates (Carmel, IN); two sons, Hugh R. Dunbar, Jr. (Canton, GA) and William H. Dunbar (Canton, GA); four grandchildren, Elizabeth C. Battaglio (Smyrna, GA), Amy K. Dunbar-Wallis (Lafayette, CO), Christopher I. Dunbar (Brooklyn, NY) and Taylor L. Dunbar (St. Louis, MO); and three great-grandchildren, Owen Wallis (Lafayette, CO), Wiley Wallis (Lafayette, CO) and Calvin Battaglio (Smyrna, GA). She was preceded in death by her brother John E. Rupp, Jr. A Memorial service will be held Thursday, January 27, 2011 at 7 PM at the Woodstock Funeral Home in Woodstock, GA. Interment will be Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 1 PM in Alexander Memorial Park in Evansville, IN.
