Billie Frances McKinney

Billie McKinney, age 83, of Acworth, Georgia passed away peacefully on January 11, 2017. Billie was born in Pineville, Kentucky to Reed and Ethel Hail on July 4, 1933. Early on in life, she enjoyed dancing, and throughout her later years she enjoyed spending her time watching television and had a passion for politics. She loved to spend quality time with her family, especially caring for her grandson, and had worked at Life University as an administrations clerk.

Billie is preceded in death by her parents, Reed Hail Sr. and Ethel Hail; brother, Reed Hail Jr.; sisters, Bea Ann Carlier and Sue Gibson. She is survived by sons, Myles Pogue, Curt McKinney and Jim McKinney; grandson, Joshua McKinney; granddaughter, Emily McKinney; daughter-in-laws, Kathy Pogue, Frances McKinney and Emily McKinney. A small family remembrance will be held at a later date. The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the ladies at Gentiva Hospice for their great care and friendship. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Billie’s honor to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the care of Woodstock Funeral Home.
