Bob Borges

Mr. Robert “Bob” Borges, 92, of Woodstock, GA passed away September 13, 2016. Bob was born on May 2, 1924 in San Leandro, CA. At the age of 17, Bob joined the US Navy, right after Pearl Harbor was bombed. He honorably served for 30 years and retired as a Lt. Commander. After retiring, Bob lived in Tokyo where he taught English for 20 years and he met his wife. He was an avid reader and 49ers fan. Bob was also a member of the Masons. He was a true gentleman and kind. People who worked for Bob said he was a fair and kind boss. He will be greatly missed by many. Bob leaves behind his loving wife of 26 years, Yasuko Borges, son, Jeff and his wife Beatrice, daughter, Naomie, 5 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and sister, Diane Meyers. He was preceded in death by his father and step-mother, Fred and Dorothy Borges and sister, Lorelei Borges. The family will have private services.
