Boyce Carter West

Boyce Carter “Bogie” West, 99, of Acworth, GA entered into eternal life, with Daughter Melea by his side on March 5, 2025. He was preceded in death by his Father, Millard Burton West, Mother, Ethel Conn (Sid) Sister Jean Petty (Gene) and his devoted & beloved wife of 75 years, Carolyn Joyce West.

Bogie lived a full, active life which included serving in the US NAVY during World War II, working for General Motors until retirement, being a Scoutmaster, golfing, boating, craft master, and ballroom dancing.

He is survived by son Boyce Carter “Bogie” West, Jr. (LuAnn), daughter Melea West Benavides (Victor), 3 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Davin Benavides (Alisia) & their children, Hudson, Naomi, Isabelle & Zoe. Megan West and daughter Lexi West and Matthew West (Danielle), and their children Maddie & Carter.

Bogie and Joyce lived in Atlanta until 1985, then moved to Lake Allatoona where they continued making memories with friends and family. Bogie was a kind, loving and gentle man, a man of integrity and a follower of our Lord Jesus Christ.

If you wish to join the family in celebration of his life, Poole Funeral Home, in Woodstock, will have visitation Tuesday, March 11th, 5-7 pm and Wednesday, March 12th, 10:30-11:30 with the service beginning at 11:30. Burial follows at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.
