Carolyn J. Buechner (nee Bobenhausen), 84, of Acworth, Ga passed away in her sleep at home on Sunday evening, August 9, 2026. She was a member of Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in midtown Atlanta, Ga.
She was born on August 23, 1941 in Syracuse, NY where she grew up. She married Rev George E. Buechner (deceased), also of Syracuse, NY on June 16, 1962. The next 57 years were an adventure of raising children, passing Seminary, serving in churches throughout Pennsylvania and retirement in Harrisburg until his death. She moved to Acworth to be closer to family.
Carolyn is survived by her son David J. Buechner and his wife Kathy of Woodstock, Ga, her daughter Kathy Bell and her husband Ron of Hubbard, Ohio, her cousins Judy Ward and her husband Gordon Ward and Caroline Ranke.
A memorial service is planned for 11:00 am on August 27th at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in midtown Atlanta, GA. Memorial contributions in Carolyn’s honor may be made to the ELCA World Hunger appeal, 8765 West Higgins Road, Chicago, IL 60631.
