Carolyn Clark Goodson

With heavy hearts, the family of Carolyn Clark Goodson announces her passing on November 1,2025. Carolyn was a devoted mother, sister, and grandmother whose unwavering love and strength shaped the lives of everyone who knew her.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Louise and Carl Clark, and her brother Wayne Clark. She is survived by her sister Beverly Grisham; her brother Cliff Clark (Tony Garza); her children Carl Goodson (Zhen), Larry Goodson, Cathy Goodson-Ortiz (Oscar), and Mark Goodson; and her much-loved grandchildren Randall (Britaney), Meghan, and Keira Goodson. She is also lovingly remembered by her step-grandchildren Christine Newnham (Jamie) and Lisa Mizell (Cody); and her nieces and nephews Jason Clark (Adrienne), Matt Clark (Amber), and Katie Perkins (Tommy).

A devoted single mother, Carolyn relocated to Destin, Florida, where she raised her children, developed life-long friendships, and built a gratifying life for more than fifty years. Prior to retirement, she worked within the hospitality industry. She later relocated to Woodstock, Georgia, to be closer to her daughter and son-in-law, continuing to share her generosity with those around her.

Carolyn’s interests reflected her love of family. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, and watching cooking and shopping network shows. She also enjoyed dining at restaurants, admiring family photos and FSU football. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family—especially during the holidays, birthdays, and Mother’s Day, which she held dear.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers at Sunabella Assisted Living Facility, who cared for Carolyn with devotion over the past two years.

A celebration of Carolyn’s life will be held on December 17th at 2:00 p.m. at Faith Assembly Christian Church, 306 S. Geronimo Street, Destin, Florida, 32550.

Carolyn’s legacy of love, resilience, and family devotion will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
