Carrie was born in Richmond, Virginia, to Paul and Constance Fadis, and she worked for many years as a legal secretary. She carried a deep pride in her Greek heritage throughout her life, and some of her happiest times were spent visiting Greece.
Her faith and heritage came together at Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church, where she volunteered for years at the church’s festivals, helping raise funds to build the church in Marietta. She also found lasting friendships through the Atlanta chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, a women’s friendship and service organization.
In her leisure time, Carrie enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint, and reading Danielle Steel novels. She was a devoted Atlanta Braves fan who never missed a chance to talk about the latest game, and she enjoyed watching both college and NFL football.
Modest and self-effacing, Carrie was always more interested in how others were doing. Her quiet generosity and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
Carrie is survived by her sister, Mary Fadis Traylor; her nephews, Thomas Gilbert Traylor III and his wife, Laura, and Christopher Paul Traylor; her grand-niece, Ashley Traylor; and her grand-nephew, Gavin Traylor. She was preceded in death by her parents.
