Cathy C Landers

Cathy was born on March 13, 1955 in Athens, TN to the late Harold R. and Margie Cox. She graduated from McMinn Central High School.

Cathy enjoyed a career in healthcare, working in hospitals and then managing a private practice. She eventually became a business partner with Dr. LE Horowitz. Through this partnership, she gained a best friend in Dr. Horowitz, and his family became hers. Cathy had a special place for children in her heart and considered all the neighborhood children part of her family. To countless children, she was affectionately known as “Nenny”. She had a very nurturing soul. Cathy worked hard as a single parent raising her two children. Cathy was very kind, energetic, and excelled in business pursuits. She loved shopping and never met a stranger; she made friends everywhere she went. It is simply impossible to put into words what she meant to not only her family, but to all the many friends and children she has met along the way.

Left behind are her children, Chad Landers (Felicia) and Kansas Mathis (John Hoback); grandchildren, Justin Williams, Jacob Landers, Drake Landers and Kennedy Jo Mathis; 2 godsons, Devin Horowitz and Jared Horowitz; and the Cox and Horowitz families.

The family will have a service at a later date to celebrate and honor Cathy’s life. In lieu of flowers, you may donate to the grandchildren’s trust fund. In order to do so, please contact Kansas Mathis.
